- 💡 I despise the phrase "arm" care. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Why would anyone out there invest all their "care" efforts into just their arm? The Scapular position ultimately controls where the head of the humerus sits in space. You can do all the "best" arm care protocols you want, but if you don't have full range and control of your Scapulae what good are you doing? I mean I guess you can improve the shitty Range you have which is good, but settling for "good" is flawed in itself. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ There is something called the interrelationship of joints. Before you can rely on multiple joints working together in a macro movement, they first must be able to function optimally in an independent setting. Additionally, this goes even beyond the Shoulder Girdle. For example, the foot is the first thing to contact the ground. The foot can have a massive impact on function all the way to the head. How many joints are in between the foot and the "Arm". A LOT. I'm hoping these "arm" care protocol people have cleared all these ranges first before they just put some 16 year old kid on a cookie cutter "arm care" program. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ I'm more into the full body care scene. Doing Controlled Articular Rotations (CARs) Drills for every joint on a daily basis. Maintaining Articular health, constantly providing afferent feed back to the CNS, and creating more body control and awareness. Once you actually control and own your ranges, do all the "arm care" stuff you want. When was the last time your "arm care" directly challenged your current range of motion, did you learn how to control that articulation, and lastly, did it adhere to the principle of progressive overload? I sure hope so... I don't have all the answers, but I'm just trying to make people think outside the box. I think we need some more of that.... ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ #elev8tedmovement #functionalrangeconditioning #frcsportperformance #athleticdevelopment #athleticperformance #controlyourself #doanything #armcare #makeshitworknice #makemobilitygreatagain #mma #jiujitsu #ufc #bellatormma #baseball #mlb #football

- Living in #California and the #Bay has been awesome, and being able to have #BJJ back in my life has been amazing! Being back on the mats these last 6 months has reminded me how powerful of a tool for #mindfulness #jiujitsu is. It has helped me force myself to take physical and mental breaks from work and my projects which I can obsess about (pretty hard to think about that next roll out strategy when someone is trying to choke/armlock/footlock you). I've made amazing friends on the mats, and thank you all for the rolls, tips, and energy. To all my Professors, I am forever grateful, and thank you all very much for sharing your knowledge and humility - I look forward to being a lifelong student. Where ever you train...OSSSSS....and I look forward to sharing the mats when our paths cross! @caio_terra_association @mindsetmartialarts @marcus_antelante84
